NS East End District

NS's East End District runs between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL and is NS's main gateway to the west from Atlanta. It gets intermodals that originate on UP and CPKC as well as a good amount of manifest traffic to/from Birmingham.

NS East End District, Milepost 702.1

An eastbound intermodal led by the Southern Pacific heritage unit passing this location
Looking west towards Birmingham
Looking east towards Atlanta
This location is the only road crossing in Muscadine, AL. It has a low area next to the tracks where a puddle can form, and if there is one there it's fantastic for eastbound shots. There won't be much of a warning for trains in either direction here.
